The Frost Queen Bust is a large-format display piece from Witchsong Miniatures, sculpted as a commanding bust of an ice-aspected queen or sorceress in full regalia. Her expression is cold and imperious, framed by a dramatic crown of jagged ice shards that erupt upward like a broken glacier. Beneath it, her armour is layered and geometric — angular plates etched with runic detail — with further crystalline shards bursting from her pauldrons. One gauntleted hand is raised at the chest, fingers curled, as if gathering arcane power or simply daring you to speak first. She rests on a textured stone plinth base, adding gravitas to the overall composition.
For painters, this bust rewards every technique in the arsenal — zenithal priming to capture the drama of the crown's height, object-source lighting from within the crystal shards, and deep contrast work across the geometric armour panels. As a collector's piece, she works equally well as a finished shelf centrepiece or as the face of a campaign's most memorable villain, patron, or cold-blooded ruler. DMs, take note: very few visual aids say "this NPC is not to be trifled with" quite so effectively.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a large-format display bust to showcase advanced painting techniques
- Are building a collection of fantasy ruler or villain busts
- Need a striking visual prop for a frost-aspected queen, archfey sovereign, or lich empress in their campaign
- Are searching for a centrepiece shelf piece with genuine sculptural presence
- Play or DM in settings like the frozen north, the Feywild, or any realm where winter has a ruler and that ruler has opinions
Encounter Hook: The party has been summoned to an audience they did not request. At the far end of a throne room that breathes cold air, behind a dais of compacted glacial ice, the Frost Queen sits absolutely still — one hand raised, the same gesture she has held for three hours, or three centuries, depending on who you ask. The diplomat standing beside the party whispers: "Whatever you do, do not look her in the eye first." Nobody agrees on whether that ship has already sailed.
Details
This is a display bust, not a standard 32mm combat miniature — it is scaled for painting and display rather than tabletop play, and arrives on its sculpted stone plinth base. As with all our pieces, it is printed to a high standard and support marks are removed as part of our process, though minor cleanup may occasionally be required on complex geometry.
