The Frost Horror is a creature of raw, unrelenting menace — part beast, part nightmare, entirely at home in the killing cold of mountain passes and frozen wastelands where civilised folk have no business wandering. This sculpt from Primal Collectibles' Tales of Kreyvos series captures that feral energy with extraordinary detail: a hulking, ape-like form bursting with layers of matted, shaggy fur rendered strand by strand, powerful clawed hands reaching forward mid-lunge, and a snarling, broad-jawed face contorted in open aggression. The mane of wild hair swept back from its brow and the loose tattered wrappings around its waist give it just enough of a humanoid suggestion to make it deeply unsettling.
The base is equally considered — broken frozen ground scattered with bare-branched scrub, cracked bones, and an exposed skull half-buried in the debris, telling a story of prior hunts without a single word of text. Three distinct angles are available, each capturing a slightly different read on the pose: from the front the creature lunges directly toward you, arms wide and predatory; from the side the sweeping silhouette of that massive fur-covered back and raised arm are emphasised; from the rear three-quarter view the explosive power of its charging stance comes fully into view. All three renders are digital but capture the sculpt's surface detail with exceptional clarity.
Whether you're running it as a reskinned yeti, a unique arctic beast in a homebrew campaign, or a territorial horror guarding a frozen mountain pass, this miniature brings genuine physical presence to the table.
This miniature works brilliantly for adventurers who:
- Run arctic, highland, or frozen wilderness encounters and want a creature with real visual weight
- Need a formidable BBEG-tier beast for a low-to-mid-level party to face in a snowbound setting
- Enjoy detailed, textured fur and organic surface work as a painting challenge
- Want a display piece that reads as dangerous even unpainted on a shelf
- Are building out a Tales of Kreyvos collection from Primal Collectibles
Encounter Hook: The mountain pass was meant to be clear — the rangers confirmed it three days ago. But something has moved into the gully since then, and the half-eaten remains of a pack mule are scattered across the snow ahead. A DC 15 Survival check reveals the tracks are fresh, enormous, and circling. The Frost Horror hasn't left. It's watching the party decide whether to press on.
