Description

From the reed-choked shallows it watches — patient, unblinking, a bone-tipped bolt already nocked before the party even knew it was there.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This Frog Folk Hunter from Epic Miniatures captures the coiled tension of a bullywug or frog-kin warrior caught mid-stalk — one foot planted on a mossy rock, the other raised as if mid-leap, whole body angled low as it levels a ragged bone crossbow at something the party really should have spotted sooner. The sculpt is lean and muscular, all taut sinew and wide-set webbed feet, with ragged wrappings across the forearms and shins that speak to a warrior who fights hard and often.

Two head variants are included across the product range — one smooth-skulled and grimly focused, the other crowned with a spiny crest of angular fins that gives a shaman-like or elder-hunter quality. Both share the same sharp, forward-set gaze that makes this figure feel alive and predatory even before a drop of paint has touched it. The crossbow itself is a beautifully rough piece of craft — bound with cord, reinforced with bone, and aimed with deadly intent.

The integrated base is sculpted with cracked stone and muddy ground, evoking the boggy terrain these hunters haunt. Whether you're running a bullywug warband ambush or need a frog-kin ranger or monk for a player character slot, this sculpt carries enough character to anchor a scene.

A fine choice for adventurers who:

  • Run swamp, marsh, or jungle encounters needing a credible ambush predator
  • Want a frog-folk player character — ranger, monk, or rogue all work brilliantly
  • Are building a bullywug or lizardfolk-adjacent encounter group
  • Enjoy painting non-human anatomy — the wide, expressive face and webbed extremities reward careful work
  • Collect display pieces from independent sculptors with a distinctive aesthetic

Encounter Hook: The party is three hours into crossing the Mirewood Fens when the ranger notices the reeds are too still. A moment later the first bolt punches through the wizard's spell component pouch — and from every bank around them, pairs of golden eyes blink open in the dark. The Frog Folk Hunter has been tracking them since the first causeway.
