This Forest Cave Entrance is a two-part scatter terrain piece that transforms any woodland or wilderness encounter into something genuinely atmospheric. On the left, a hulking mass of gnarled, angular rock-like roots forms the cave wall — jagged, hunched, and wrapped in thick vine-like tendrils that suggest something half-alive. On the right, a gracefully arching tree stands on splayed roots, its canopy dense with individually sculpted leaves. Heavy rope-like roots bridge the two halves, framing an archway that feels like a place with a history — or a curse.
The two-piece design means the arch can be placed together to form a complete entrance or used as separate scatter pieces across a larger woodland scene. Whether you're running a druidic shrine encounter, a hag's forest lair, or a treant-guarded grove, this piece does the heavy lifting for atmosphere before a single die is rolled. Equally at home on a display shelf as on a battle map.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness or forest encounters and want terrain that tells a story
- Need an evocative cave or dungeon entrance for druid, fey, or nature-themed campaigns
- Build diorama scenes or display pieces inspired by dark fantasy settings
- Paint large-scale terrain pieces with rich surface texture and fine leaf detail
Encounter Hook:
The ranger's map marks a cave entrance somewhere in the Thornwood — but when the party finally finds it, the roots framing the arch are still warm to the touch, and the bark on the right-hand tree is carved with fresh druidic script none of them recognise. Whatever made those markings did so within the last hour.
Scaled to 32mm. The piece comes in two sections — the rocky root formation and the arching tree — which can be positioned together or used separately. Ready for priming and painting straight away, or use as-is for unpainted games.
