The Headless Horseman is one of folklore's most enduring terrors, and this sculpt earns its place at the table. The rider is clad in ornately engraved plate armour, its surface carved with swirling knotwork and beast-faced pauldrons. One gauntleted fist thrusts a longsword skyward in a battle charge, whilst the other — well, the head it once held is now raised high, a grinning skull wreathed in ghostly fire. Beneath the rider, a spectral warhorse surges forward with mane and tail blazing in phantom flames, legs mid-gallop, every muscle coiled with supernatural momentum.
Whether you run this as a Death Knight on horseback, a Ravenloft curse made manifest, or a unique cursed champion haunting the roads of your homebrew setting, this miniature brings exactly the kind of dramatic, silhouette-strong presence that stops a session in its tracks. Equally at home as a campaign boss, an encounter centrepiece, or a showpiece on a display shelf.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need an undead mounted boss with serious table presence
- Are running Ravenloft, Curse of Strahd, or a gothic horror campaign
- Want a dramatic villain entrance that players will remember
- Collect undead or cavalry miniatures for painting projects
- Are building a Horsemen of the Apocalypse or cursed knight themed force
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to escort a coffin to a remote monastery before dawn. Three hours into the journey, the horses bolt — and from the treeline behind them thunders a mounted figure in archaic armour, its severed head raised like a lantern, skull grinning as it closes the distance at impossible speed.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature comes as a single piece attached to a base, ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. As with all hand-finished resin pieces, minor imperfections can occasionally occur — any residual marks are easily tidied up before painting.
