Description

It drifted silently from the darkness, its trailing spines flickering with bioluminescent unease — and then, haltingly, it spoke.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Flumph is one of the most wonderfully peculiar creatures in the Monster Manual: a lawful good aberration that bobs through the Underdark on a cushion of expelled air, trailing barbed tendrils and communicating in a language of squirts and flashes. Far from a mindless threat, Flumphs are ancient observers — collectors of secrets, allies to those who earn their fragile trust, and surprisingly useful sources of intelligence on whatever horrors lurk deeper in the dark. This is pose 01 of our Flumph range from Novaminis, and it captures the creature's strange, almost endearing anatomy with real sculptural care.

The sculpt shows the Flumph hovering with its domed, ribbed bell uppermost, two upward-curving eye-stalks rising from the top, and a curtain of stiffened trailing spines hanging below. Several articulated arm-tentacles extend outward from the mid-section, each tipped with small leaf-shaped barbs — giving the mini a sense of cautious, curious motion rather than outright aggression. It's a characterful centrepiece for any Underdark encounter or a genuinely eye-catching piece on a display shelf.

A fine addition for adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark campaigns and want their Flumph to be immediately recognisable on the table
  • Enjoy painting unusual organic textures — the ribbed bell and barbed tendrils offer a rewarding challenge
  • Want an NPC that can double as an unlikely ally or a deeply unsettling encounter depending on the party's approach
  • Collect D&D 5e aberrations for display or as part of a broader monster roster

Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a mind flayer colony through the lower tunnels for three sessions when they find a wounded Flumph sheltering behind a collapsed stalactite. It communicates in broken, urgent pulses of colour — it has witnessed the colony's ritual preparations, and it will share what it knows, but only if the adventurers agree to lead it safely to the surface first.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is inspected before dispatch; the occasional minor mark from support removal is possible but easily tidied up with a hobby knife or fine sandpaper before priming. Ready to prime and paint straight away, or use as-is if you prefer.
