This is variation 04 of Novaminis' Flesh Golem range — a female-form construct caught mid-stride, arms outstretched and fingers splayed in that unsettling, puppet-like gait that signals something is very wrong. Her body is covered in the telltale stitchwork of the flesh golem's construction: thick suture lines running across limbs, torso, and neck where mismatched parts have been grafted together with unnerving care. Her expression is blank, open, almost questioning — the face of something that was given a body but never quite given a soul.
Unlike the lumbering, brutish flesh golem of older depictions, this sculpt leans into something subtler and more unsettling: a humanoid figure that looks almost right, until it doesn't. The sutures, the proportions, the glazed upward tilt of the head — every detail rewards close inspection and will respond beautifully to layered flesh tones, bruised shadows, and stark pale highlights. As a gaming piece, she reads clearly from across the table. As a display miniature, she's a compelling subject for painters who enjoy working with skin tones and macabre detail.
If you're running multiple flesh golem variants, this pose provides a strong contrast to more aggressive sculpts — her stepping, reaching stance reads as a creature in pursuit rather than in combat, which makes her particularly useful for chase encounters and haunted-laboratory scenes.
Great for adventurers who:
- Need a flesh golem for a Ravenloft or mad-scientist-style dungeon encounter
- Want a construct enemy that unsettles players before the fight even begins
- Are collecting multiple Novaminis Flesh Golem variants for a full encounter group
- Enjoy painting challenging skin textures and body-horror detail work
- Want a striking display piece with genuine narrative weight
Encounter Hook
The party has been hired to investigate a series of grave robberies near the city of Saltmere. Following the trail to a waterfront townhouse, they descend into a basement laboratory — only to find three figures standing motionless in the dark. When the lantern light falls across the stitched seams running up their limbs and the blank upward gaze of their faces, the nearest one takes its first slow, deliberate step forward.
