This diorama-style sculpt from Mia Kay M3DM captures two flayed ghouls in a moment of savage, visceral violence. The larger figure looms behind — mouth open in a raw, echoing shriek, musculature exposed and grotesque — while a second, leaner ghoul lunges forward across a base strewn with scattered bones and broken humanoid remains. There is nothing passive about this piece. Every sinew, every hollow eye socket, every reaching claw communicates a predator that has long since left humanity behind. It is a striking centrepiece for any undead encounter or display shelf.
In D&D terms, ghouls occupy a particular horror niche: fast, ravenous, and capable of paralyzing their prey. This sculpt leans hard into that identity. The multi-figure composition gives Dungeon Masters a genuine sense of a pack — or, used alone, of a monstrous specimen that towers over its victims. The bone-strewn base grounds the scene in brutal narrative context, telling a story before a single die is rolled.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run horror-themed campaigns in catacombs, graveyards, or Ravenloft-adjacent settings
- Want a centrepiece undead miniature that commands attention on the table
- Collect display pieces with dynamic, story-rich compositions
- Are painting undead hordes and want a showpiece to anchor the warband
Encounter Hook:
The patrol found the burial cart overturned on the road to Ashwick — horses bolted, driver's remains spread across fifty feet of cobblestone. The cargo of six coffins was opened from the inside. Something paralysed the guards before they could sound the alarm, and now, as the party approaches the old charnel ground, two sets of wet, dragging footprints lead inward between the stones — and the sound coming from the pit at the centre is not wind.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model with a detailed base comes as a single assembled piece. A plain base variant is also available — base and model are separate and can be joined with a small amount of glue. Models arrive with supports removed and fully cured, ready for priming and painting or to display as cast. Minor surface marks from the printing process are possible and easily tidied up.
