The Flayed Ghoul is one of the more visceral undead creatures a Dungeon Master can place on the table. Where a shambling zombie inspires dread through sheer mass, this creature inspires revulsion through speed and desperation — every muscle visible beneath its taut, almost translucent skin, every movement a coiled lunge toward the nearest living thing. Sculpted by Mia Kay M3DM, this miniature captures that feral, predatory energy with remarkable anatomical detail: the exposed musculature mapped across arms, torso, and legs; a mouth torn open mid-shriek with fangs bared; and long, curved claws extended in a low, aggressive charge.
The dynamic crouching pose places the Ghoul mid-pounce, weight shifted forward over a rocky, spike-studded base. A close-up detail shot highlights the raw horror of the face — sunken sockets, stretched skin, and a scream that needs no sound to unsettle your players. Whether you're building a graveyard encounter, stocking the lower levels of a dungeon, or crafting a Ravenloft-adjacent horror campaign, this sculpt brings immediate presence to the table.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run horror-themed D&D or TTRPG campaigns where undead monsters need genuine menace
- Want a pack hunter or lurking predator for graveyard, catacomb, or ruined chapel encounters
- Are building an undead warband led by a greater threat — this Ghoul works as foot soldier or scout
- Collect and paint undead miniatures and want a sculpt with standout anatomical detail
Encounter Hook:
Three nights running, freshly interred bodies have vanished from the village cemetery — no disturbed earth, no broken coffin lids, only deep claw gouges scored into the stone slab of the mausoleum steps. The priest insists it is grave robbers. The gravedigger hasn't come back from his last night watch. Someone needs to be in that cemetery before dawn.
The miniature is scaled to 32mm. The model with a detailed base comes as a single piece, base attached. The model with a plain base is supplied with the base separate for easy gluing. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brush or equally at home on a display shelf straight from the box.
