Flail Snail by La Louve 3D
Description
It moves slowly — but the five serpentine heads swaying from its neck have already spotted you, and the spiked shell on its back is crackling with an energy that makes your Arcana check feel very, very relevant.

The Flail Snail is one of D&D's most delightfully bizarre creatures — a Monstrosity that looks almost comical until its chromatic shell begins pulsing and spells start reflecting back at the caster who thought this would be easy. La Louve 3D's sculpt captures that contradiction beautifully: the wide spiral shell rises in jagged, crown-like spikes, while five long eye-stalks curl upward from the body, each tipped with a distinct bulbous head and wide, watchful eyes. The body itself is heavily textured with overlapping scales, and the creature's gaping, toothy maw sits front and centre — open, ready, and thoroughly unimpressed with your party's spell slots.
This is a miniature that earns its place both on the table and on the display shelf. At 32mm scale it sits imposingly as a mid-encounter centrepiece, and the level of sculpted detail — from the ammonite spiral of the shell to the individual scales across the foot — rewards careful painting with washes, drybrushing, or OSL on those eye-stalks.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run Underdark, dungeon, or cavern encounters and want a creature that genuinely unsettles players
- Enjoy painting characterful monsters with rich texture and multiple focal points
- Are building a Monsters of the Deep or weird wilderness bestiary for display
- Want a creature that doubles as a conversation piece on any shelf
Encounter Hook:
The alchemist's journal described a trail of vitrified stone leading deeper into the fungal cavern — each patch perfectly circular, roughly a metre across. Your Druid is the first to realise what leaves a trail like that, and they are not happy about it. Somewhere ahead, a Flail Snail is feeding, its shell absorbing every cantrip the panicking apprentices ahead of you have been throwing at it. You have torches, two short swords, and a growing suspicion that this was not in the contract.
Each miniature is scaled to 32mm and supplied with a decorative base as a separate piece — attach with a small amount of glue. Some sculpts interact with their base in deliberate ways, so we recommend using the included base for the best presentation. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be cleaned up easily ahead of painting.
