Lydia the Merciless is the Duke's Commander — a figure who inspires dread and discipline in equal measure. Clad in ornate plate armour layered over a chainmail-hemmed tabard, her masked visage offers nothing to read and everything to fear. A broad longsword is levelled outward in one hand, her posture coiled somewhere between command and the first movement of a killing blow. The sculpted base is strewn with fallen swords half-buried in broken rock, a quiet testament to all who came before and failed. Every surface, from the filigree shoulder pauldrons to the flowing hooded cloak, rewards a patient painter.
From DM Stash's A Grim Fate 5e eldritch adventure range, Lydia works equally well as a formidable named NPC villain, a campaign-defining rival, or a player character taking on the Fighter or Rogue archetype. She is as compelling on a display shelf as she is in the centre of the battlemap.
