Fey Dragon (Underthwyn) by DM Stash

Older than the oldest tree in the Feywild, Underthwyn does not sleep — she waits, bark-skinned and patient, for the forest to call her to war.

• ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
• ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
• ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
• ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Underthwyn is no fire-breathing wyrm of mountain hoards. She is something stranger and older — an Ancient Fey Dragon whose body has merged with the living wood itself. Her scales have become layered bark and split timber, her wings are vast membranes of gnarled grain and cracked heartwood, and her tail curls with the deliberate weight of a century-old root. The sculpt captures her mid-rise, one clawed foot braced on a detailed woodland base strewn with twisted roots, spiral-carved stones, and fallen debris — as though the forest floor itself is reacting to her presence. Every surface bristles with texture: overlapping bark-plates across her chest, feathered leaf-edges along her spine, and wing membranes veined like ancient parchment.

From a DM's perspective, Underthwyn works equally well as the apex predator of a corrupted Feywild forest, a bound guardian of a fey noble's territory, or an independent force of nature who answers to no court. For collectors, the sheer density of sculptural detail across her wings, body, and base makes her a centrepiece display piece that rewards close attention from every angle. The model is supplied in parts — body and base — which can be assembled with a small amount of super glue. The base is deeply integrated with the overall composition and is recommended for the full effect.

A fine choice for adventurers who:

• Need a Gargantuan or Large fey creature as a campaign boss or lair guardian
• Are running a Feywild, enchanted forest, or nature-corruption arc
• Want a dragon that looks unlike every other dragon on the shelf
• Are building a display collection of exceptional fantasy centrepiece models
• Are looking for a demanding and rewarding painting project with vast textural variety

Encounter Hook:
The party follows the trail of vanished druids deep into the Whisperwood, where the trees have begun walking and the birds no longer sing. At the heart of the forest, the oldest oak in the grove opens its eyes — and Underthwyn unfurls her wings for the first time in three hundred years, furious that mortals have woken her before the corruption she was planted here to contain has been dealt with. She is not their enemy. But she does not know that yet.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and scenic base are separate pieces, designed to work together — the base features carved roots and stone detail that ties directly into the dragon's stance. Suitable for priming and painting straight away, or use unpainted for an atmospheric grey-resin presence at the table.
