Not every predator relies on brute strength. The feathered raptor is a creature of momentum and precision — a living weapon wrapped in overlapping plumage that ripples like armour as it lunges. This sculpt from Epic Miniatures captures that coiled, predatory energy in extraordinary detail: every feather layered with care, the sickle-clawed feet spread wide mid-stride, and the jaws agape in a threat display that leaves no ambiguity about intent.

The full-body feathering sets this apart from a standard lizard-skinned dinosaur sculpt. From the dense plumage across the back and flanks to the fanned tail feathers and the softer fringe running down the arms, the surface detail rewards patient brushwork — dry-brushing the layered feathers produces a genuinely striking result, and the open mouth gives painters a clear focal point for contrast work on the teeth and tongue.

Mounted on a large 51mm base, this raptor has real table presence. Whether you're running a jungle encounter, a lost-world dungeon crawl, or a setting where dinosaurs serve as war-beasts or mounts, this miniature earns its place on the board. It's equally compelling as a display piece — the sculpt has the kind of physical dynamism that draws the eye from across a shelf.

The bundle includes both a plain base and a decorative base variant, as well as both supported and unsupported files — giving you options whether you're painting it for the table or building out a diorama scene.

  • Encounter-ready for jungle, wilderness, and lost-world campaigns
  • Distinctive feathered surface texture ideal for dry-brushing and layering techniques
  • Large 51mm base adds commanding table presence
  • Suits display collectors and gaming-table adventurers alike
  • The open jaw and spread claws make for a compelling centre-of-attention encounter piece

Encounter Hook

The party has been tracking a clutch of stolen eggs through the canopy for two days. They find them — arranged in a nest of stripped branches at the base of a mossy ruin — just as the mother returns. She rounds the treeline at full sprint, feathers fanned, jaw wide, and the initiative dice hit the table.
