Description
Born from the prison-plane of Carceri, the Farastu Demodand is the lowest and most savage of its kind — a snarling tar-slicked brute that bounds across the battlefield on all fours, driven by nothing but hunger and spite.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This sculpt from Monster Atlas captures the Farastu mid-lunge — massive torso coiled low, one clawed arm sweeping outward in a wide raking strike, the other braced in iron-riveted bracers. The jaw is wrenched open to reveal rows of serrated teeth, and a crown of gnarled antler-like horns erupts from the skull, twisting outward in every direction. Patches of crude armour — spiked gauntlets, banded knee-guards, and riveted arm plates — sit strapped over the creature's knotted, warty hide with lengths of cord and binding. The base is a fractured rocky outcrop, lending the pose a sense of the creature clambering forward over broken terrain.
Three images show the miniature from different angles — front-right, front-left, and straight-on front — each rendered in an unprimed sandy-beige tone that showcases the exceptional detail in the musculature, armour textures, and facial expression. The sheer mass of the figure communicates its brute-tier threat level immediately, and the dynamic pose means it reads well from every seat at the table.
Fits well for adventurers who:
- Need a visceral, high-impact fiend encounter in a Carceri or Abyss-themed campaign
- Run published adventures featuring demodands or tanar'ri-adjacent threats
- Want a boss-tier brute that can double as a bodyguard for a greater fiend
- Are building out a Gehenna or inter-planar prison-break scenario
- Enjoy painting heavily textured creature sculpts with strong contrast opportunities
Encounter Hook
The party's planar guide leads them through the second layer of Carceri — and then goes very quiet. Ahead, perched on a slab of black rock beside a shattered gate mechanism, a Farastu Demodand is crouched over the remains of a githzerai scout. It hasn't noticed the party yet. But the moment they move to retrieve the gate key from the body, it raises its head, every tooth on display.
