Description

Before the harvests failed and the granaries stood empty, riders were seen on the horizon — and those who looked upon their scales knew that something ancient and merciless had come to collect.

  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Famine Horseman is one of the most evocative figures in apocalyptic lore, and Great Grimoire's sculpt does the concept full justice. Mounted on a skeletal undead horse rearing up mid-charge, the rider is a gaunt, desiccated figure — part corpse, part revenant — clad in tattered robes and bound with heavy chains. The signature scales of Famine hang from the figure's outstretched arm, a chilling symbol of scarcity weighed and found wanting. Long, lank hair falls from a masked skull-like face, and the horse itself is draped in chain barding and studded armour, its musculature withered but its stride furious. Three distinct sculpts are visible across this range, each capturing a different angle and energy of the charge — from a rearing halt to a full gallop — making this an exceptional piece for display or high-stakes tabletop encounters.

Details

This is a large, characterful miniature scaled at 35mm. If you'd prefer a different scale such as 32mm, send us a message and we'll do our best to accommodate you. A decorative base option is available — if selected, please include a note with your order specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. Bases arrive separately and can be attached with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch, though minor surface marks inherent to the printing process may occasionally be present and can be tidied up with minimal effort. The miniature arrives fully cured and ready for priming and painting — or use it straight from the box if grey resin suits your table.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a campaign-defining BBEG or divine herald of doom for a high-level arc
  • Are running apocalyptic, death deity, or planar invasion storylines
  • Want a centrepiece display piece that commands attention on any shelf
  • Are building a full set of the Four Horsemen for the ultimate encounter

Encounter Hook:
The party crests the ridge above the valley town of Ashenmere to find the crops black and rotting for miles in every direction — and in the centre of the ruined fields, a skeletal rider sits motionless, scales in hand, watching them with hollow sockets that glow faintly gold. The scales tip. The rider turns. It has counted what the town owes, and it has come to collect.
