Description
It has no name because no one who has seen it remembers it — the False Hydra simply grows, and the world quietly forgets it exists.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Few creatures in the canon of tabletop horror are as genuinely unsettling as the False Hydra. This sculpt by Yasashii Kyojin Studio captures the creature at its most nightmarish: a writhing, coiling mass of muscle and sinew from which five sunken, hollow-eyed heads erupt in every direction, mouths stretched open mid-shriek. The anatomy is deliberately wrong — too many necks, too many reaching hands — evoking that deep unease of something that should not be. At 69mm tall, this is a substantial piece that commands the table the moment it's placed down.
Whether you're running a body-horror arc, a village-slowly-vanishing mystery, or an Underdark campaign where something ancient has been feeding for decades, this miniature brings exactly the right kind of dread. Equally at home on a display shelf as it is at the centre of your most memorable encounter, the sculpt's layered surface detail — from the ropey muscle cords to the deeply creased expressions of each individual face — rewards both painters and collectors alike.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a boss monster that creates genuine table-wide unease
- Are running a horror-themed TTRPG campaign or one-shot
- Want a centrepiece display piece with serious visual impact
- Are building an Underdark or rural-horror encounter collection
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives in Millhaven to find the inn fully staffed, the fields being tended, and not a single villager who can recall how many people used to live there. The census book has a page torn out. The children's graveyard has fresh flowers but no names on the stones. Somewhere beneath the village well, something enormous has been singing for thirty years — and the song is still working.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale (69mm tall). Supplied with a plain black base, ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present — these are easily addressed during prep and do not affect the quality of the sculpt.
