This is the second variation in Novaminis' Fallen Tree series, and it brings a distinctly sinister edge to forest and Feywild encounters. The set comprises two separate pieces: a long, weathered log studded with wicked upward-curving thorns and jagged spurs along its length, and a matching tree stump with gnarled, claw-like surface roots splaying outward across the ground. The cross-section of the log is clearly visible on one end, with detailed growth rings carved into the face — the kind of detail that rewards a careful drybrushed paint job. Bark texture across both pieces is deep and tactile, with rough, cracked surfaces and organic irregularities that give the set a genuinely ancient feel.

The thorns in particular set this piece apart from a plain fallen log. Jutting at irregular angles from the top and sides of the trunk, they suggest something unnatural — a cursed woodland, a Feywild boundary marker, or the aftermath of a treant's last battle. The stump, meanwhile, reads almost like a reaching hand when viewed from above, its roots curled and splayed as if still grasping the earth. Together, the two pieces give you flexible options for dressing your table — place them together for a dramatic centrepiece or scatter them separately to break up line of sight across the battlefield.
