This Fairy Warlock is a miniature that tells its story through every detail. Moth-like wings — each etched with eye markings — spread wide behind a slight figure draped in tattered, layered robes. Small curved horns curve from her brow, half-hidden by loose hair that falls across a coolly knowing expression. In one hand she raises an ornate lantern, its frame twisted with decorative ironwork; in the other she trails a heavy chain, looped around what appears to be a bound skull — the mark of a pact made and a patron who collects on debts. Wisp-like flames and gnarled root tendrils curl up from the base around her, suggesting something between the natural world and something far older and stranger.
The sculpt rewards painters willing to lean into contrast — pale, almost translucent wings against darker robes, the sickly glow of a warlock's lantern, and the rust and tarnish of those chains all offer rich opportunities. Equally, the silhouette is distinctive enough to read clearly on a busy gaming table even before a drop of paint is applied.
This miniature suits adventurers looking for:
- A fairy warlock player character with a Great Old One, Archfey, or Undying patron
- A sinister Feywild NPC — a bargain-keeper, a court outcast, or a collector of lost souls
- A BBEG with a deceptively delicate appearance and very dark intentions
- A centrepiece for a painting project exploring fey corruption or eldritch themes
- Display collectors drawn to the contrast between fairy delicacy and warlock menace
Encounter Hook
The party has been tracking missing travellers along the Thornwood road for three sessions. The trail leads, unexpectedly, to a clearing where a small figure in tattered robes holds a glowing lantern aloft — and at her feet, a chain leads to a cage containing the last traveller, still alive. She smiles and asks, very politely, whether the adventurers have come to bargain or to beg.
