The Faceless is one of those creatures that lodges itself in a player's memory long after the session ends. Mia Kay's sculpt captures something deeply unsettling: a gaunt, emaciated figure mid-lurch, robes torn away at the chest to reveal a cage of grasping hands erupting from within — as though something is trying to claw its way out. A small ornate lantern hangs on a chain from its grip, swaying with quiet menace. The head is thrown back, mouth wrenched open in a soundless scream, the hood of a tattered cloak framing the hollow face. Rope binds the lower half of its torso in crude loops, and bare feet grip a cracked earth base. Every element of this sculpt serves the horror.
Whether you're running a Ravenloft campaign, a corrupted-temple encounter, or a slow-burn cosmic horror arc, the Faceless works as a harrowing monster, a cursed NPC, or the unforgettable centrepiece of a boss fight. Equally at home on a display shelf as it is on the tabletop — this is the kind of sculpt that earns a permanent spot in your collection.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Run horror-tinged D&D 5e or other TTRPG campaigns
- Want a distinctive aberration or fiend encounter that unnerves players
- Collect dark fantasy miniatures for display as well as play
- Are working on ambitious painting projects with dramatic, textured subjects
Encounter Hook:
The village lantern-lighter hasn't been seen in three days. When the party investigates the lighthouse at the edge of town, they find every flame extinguished — and a single lantern still swinging in the dark at the top of the stairs, held by something that was once a person. It turns at the sound of footsteps. It has no face. It has always been here. The lantern was never meant to guide ships.
