The Exiled Monk sits cross-legged atop a rugged rock formation, robes draped loosely over one shoulder, one hand raised in a precise mudra whilst the other rests open at his knee. There is coiled power in that stillness — the kind that comes not from aggression but from absolute mastery of self. Bamboo stakes, rope, and small vials ring the base, suggesting a hermit's camp or a waymarker along an ancient pilgrimage route. This is a monk who has left the monastery behind, carrying only discipline and whatever hard-won wisdom drove him from its walls.
Whether you're bringing a wandering ki master to life at the table or placing a contemplative figure at the heart of a shrine encounter, this sculpt captures a character study as much as a fighter's pose — a man between worlds, between violence and peace, between exile and purpose.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Play a Monk and want a pose that conveys inner power rather than combat action
- Need a venerable NPC — a hidden master, a disgraced sensei, or a reclusive oracle
- Are building a mountain monastery, pilgrimage road, or Faerun wilderness encounter
- Want a display piece that holds its own off the tabletop as well as on it
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a series of disappearances along the high mountain pass. At the summit they find him — a bald, barefoot monk seated in perfect stillness on a frost-dusted rock, utterly unbothered by the wind. He opens one eye and says: "I wondered when someone would come. Sit. There is much to discuss before the sun sets — and you do not want to be on this path after dark."
