This Evil Skeleton from Epic Miniatures comes with two distinct sculpts in one listing — a serious and a chibi variant — giving Dungeon Masters real flexibility when staging undead encounters.

The standard variant is a menacing armoured skeleton warrior captured mid-swing, gripping a heavy spiked battle-axe in both bony hands. It wears a horned helmet adorned with a death's-head motif on the pauldron, and its ribcage and skeletal limbs are decorated with skull iconography and diamond-shaped armour plates. The pose is low and aggressive — this is a creature that has been doing this for a very long time and sees no reason to stop. It sits on a 25.5mm medium round base.

The chibi variant offers the same armoured skeleton theme in a rounder, more exaggerated style: a massive grinning skull head crammed full of oversized teeth, a spiked helmet, and the same skull-adorned battle-axe raised in a swaggering one-handed grip. The chunky proportions and wide toothy grin make it an excellent choice for games that lean into dark comedy, or as a contrast piece alongside more grounded sculpts. It shares the same 25.5mm medium base.

Both sculpts carry the same thematic DNA — horned helms, skulls, and that signature axe — so they work naturally as two different expressions of the same undead champion. Painted up together, they make a memorable encounter pair.

Particularly well-suited to adventurers who:

  • Run undead-heavy campaigns featuring necromancers, liches, or cursed tombs
  • Want a serious and a chibi undead warrior in their collection
  • Need a mid-tier undead combatant that reads clearly on the table
  • Enjoy painting intricate bone textures, skull details, and dark metal armour
  • Are building out a graveyard, crypt, or Shadowfell encounter set

Encounter Hook: The party descends into the crypt beneath the old fortress, torches casting long shadows across the flagstones. At the far end of the chamber, two figures wait — one hunched and deliberate, axe levelled at hip height; the other bouncing on skeletal feet with a grin that suggests it has absolutely no concept of how dangerous this situation should feel. They move together in silence, perfectly in step. Someone made these things. Someone gave them orders. And they have been waiting here, in the dark, ever since.
