Evil Knight (Mordred) by Primal Collectibles
Description
He came not with a war cry but with a slow, deliberate smile — Mordred, the knight who broke Camelot from within, clad in armour that looks grown from the darkness itself.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This miniature from Primal Collectibles' Chronicles of Excalibur range captures Mordred in full dark majesty. His armour is a mass of jagged, layered plates with serrated pauldrons that flare like black flames — every edge hinting at violence contained just beneath a veneer of knightly bearing. Atop his brow sits a horned skull-faced helmet, part battle trophy, part statement of intent. He stands with his broadsword grounded before him, one gauntleted hand resting on the hilt, utterly composed — the posture of a man who has already decided how this ends.
The sculpt rewards both painters and display collectors. The layered armour offers rich opportunities for edge highlighting and shadow work, whilst the skull motif and ornate base — scattered with candles and debris — give the finished piece real presence on shelf or table. Whether you're fielding him as the campaign's primary antagonist, a fallen paladin antihero, or the cunning leader of a knightly order gone to ruin, Mordred commands attention the moment he hits the battlefield.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a compelling high-CR villain or dark knight to anchor a campaign's final arc
- Are building an Arthurian-themed or medieval dark fantasy TTRPG setting
- Want a Fighter or Paladin player character with a morally complex backstory
- Collect display miniatures from mythology-inspired fantasy ranges
- Are looking for a memorable named NPC whose presence changes the tone of the table
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tasked by the ageing king to deliver a peace treaty to his estranged knight — but when they arrive at the fortress keep, they find Mordred already seated on the throne, the treaty unopened on the floor, and a cold smile waiting for them. He didn't come to negotiate. He came to be witnessed.
