The Ettin is one of the most chaotic entries in the giant-kin family, and this sculpt by Monster Atlas captures that brutish menace with real character. Both bearded heads snarl and leer with distinct expressions — one wide-eyed and bellowing, the other narrowed and scheming — giving the impression of a creature perpetually at war with itself. Bound wrappings coil around its thick forearms, a crude bone-and-ring ornament hangs between its two necks, and a massive spiked club is clutched in one meaty fist. The leathery, textured skin and heavy musculature read clearly even at 32mm scale, making this a centrepiece worth placing front and centre on the table.

Ettins in D&D 5e hit hard and act unpredictably — each head rolls its own Perception check, they rarely sleep soundly, and they make ferocious combatants for low-to-mid tier encounters. Whether you need a territorial brute guarding a mountain pass, an enforcer for a hill giant warlord, or a chaotic wildcard lurking in the wilderness, this mini delivers the threat on sight. It works equally well as a display piece for collectors drawn to the character and craft of a well-sculpted monster.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Run giant-kin encounters, wilderness ambushes, or mountain-region campaigns
  • Need a two-headed boss monster that reads instantly across the table
  • Want a characterful sculpt that rewards detailed painting — the two distinct faces are a painter's gift
  • Collect D&D monsters for display as well as play

Encounter Hook:
The party is escorting a merchant through the Graypeaks when the wagon lurches to a halt — a massive silhouette fills the road ahead, one head chewing on a gnawed bone, the other already screaming at them to turn back. The merchant whispers that this Ettin has been extorting travellers for months. The coin purse or the club — the choice is theirs.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces and can be joined with superglue. The decorative base is recommended, as the sculpt is designed to interact with it naturally. Printed to a high level of detail; supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks are possible and easily tidied up before priming.
