This is the second pose in our Ettercap range, sculpted by Yasashii Kyojin Studio, and it captures something that an upright, snarling pose never could: the deeply unsettling patience of a creature that thinks in webs. Hunched over with its elongated arms pressing taloned hands to the ground, the Ettercap is coiled like a spring — every corded muscle in those too-long limbs conveying restrained power. The cluster of smooth, bulbous eyes sits low on its featureless face, and the reverse-jointed digitigrade legs end in splayed, clawed feet that suggest something adapted to creeping silently across stone and bark alike. This is a creature that belongs in the ceiling of a tunnel, and the sculpt makes you feel it.

The crouching pose makes this variant particularly evocative as an ambush predator — different in energy to a standing or lunging sculpt, and far more threatening for it. Whether you're building out a spider-infested ruin, a drow-adjacent hunting ground, or simply want a genuinely unsettling monster for your display shelf, this Ettercap earns its place.

Encounter Hook:
The party's tracker finds the first web strand at knee height — then another, then dozens, all radiating from a single point ahead. In the centre of the tunnel, something crouches over the remains of a previous expedition, face turned down, perfectly still. It has already heard them. It has been counting their footsteps since the cave entrance.

Printed at 28mm scale (as indicated by the sculptor's reference image). Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. This miniature arrives ready to prime and paint, or use straight from the box as an unpainted gaming piece. As with all hand-finished prints, minor surface marks may occasionally be present and are easily addressed before painting.
