Ettercap 01 by Yasashii Kyojin Studios
Description
It drops from the silken darkness above — too many limbs, too little face, and a hunger that has nothing to do with food.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The Ettercap is one of the most unsettling creatures in the D&D bestiary, and this sculpt by Yasashii Kyojin Studios captures exactly why. Bloated, hunched, and utterly wrong in its proportions, the creature crouches mid-stalk — its massive domed body hanging heavy over a tangle of powerful limbs, while a cluster of simple eyes and vicious chelicerae give the head a deeply alien quality. The clawed forelimbs are raised and reaching, the digitigrade legs coiled beneath it ready to lunge. There is no dramatic heroism here, just the cold patience of a predator that has already decided you are prey.
Every surface detail rewards close attention — the taut musculature of the arms, the segmented swell of the abdomen, the individual claws curved like fishhooks. This is a miniature that reads well from across the table and rewards the painter who gets in close. Whether you're statting it up as a Monstrosity in a web-choked dungeon encounter or mounting it on a display shelf as a piece of dark fantasy art, this sculpt pulls its weight on both fronts.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Underdark campaigns featuring drow lairs, abandoned mines, or fungal caverns
- Want a memorable ambush predator to drop into a forest or dungeon encounter
- Are building a collection of classic D&D monstrosities
- Enjoy painting complex organic forms with deep shadow recesses
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the missing merchant for two days when they find his camp — or rather, the neat silk-wrapped bundle hanging twelve feet up in the tree line that used to be his camp. The Ettercap that made it is still here. It has been watching them since they entered the clearing. It counted them before they counted it.
