Lars von Findros cuts an imposing silhouette — a knight of the northern orders rendered in full, intricately detailed plate armour. Every panel of his armour is engraved with flowing knotwork and heraldic motifs, layered over chainmail visible at the throat and joints. A sweeping cloak fans out behind him, its textured surface worked with fine repeating patterns that reward close inspection on the painting table. He carries a tall, ornate halberd in his right hand — the axe-head hefty and well-defined, the shaft decorated with scrolled fittings — while his left hand rests on a large rectangular shield embossed with a fleur-de-lis design. His great helm is crowned with a dramatic forward-swept horn, giving him an unmistakable silhouette even at gaming distance.
The decorative base is sculpted with floral relief work and suits the knightly, formal bearing of the character. The sculpt is multipart, which means painters have excellent access to all that fine detail — the engravings on the breastplate, the layered pauldrons, and the textured cloak are all painting challenges worth savouring. Whether you're fielding Lars as an elite city guard captain, a stern order knight blocking the party's path, or a player character Fighter or Paladin, this sculpt delivers the gravitas of a seasoned northern warrior.
- A Fighter or Paladin player character seeking full-plate northern knight aesthetics
- Dungeon Masters who need a visually authoritative guard captain or order knight NPC
- Painters who want a technically rewarding sculpt rich with surface detail
- Collectors building out a knightly household or northern military faction on the display shelf
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the fortified toll gate on the northern road and finds Lars von Findros himself standing watch — he informs them that by order of the High Warden, no armed company passes without submitting to inspection and paying a tithe. The problem? The party's cargo is exactly what the northern orders are searching for.
