The Eldritch Jester is one of those creatures that refuses to sit neatly in any bestiary category, and that's precisely what makes her so useful at the table. Dressed in a jester's motley — triple-horned cowl, layered skirt, a comedy mask buckled at her waist like a trophy — she carries the surface trappings of carnival entertainment. But the tentacles coiling from beneath her feet and the blank porcelain stillness of her face tell a different story entirely. There's something Far Realm about her. Something that grins without warmth and moves without sound.
On the tabletop she works beautifully as a recurring villain, a Warlock's otherworldly patron made flesh, or the unsettling centrepiece of a Feywild court gone badly wrong. The sculpt captures her mid-gesture, one hand raised and fingers spread — whether that's a theatrical flourish or the beginning of something terrible is entirely up to your campaign. A skull rests at her feet amongst the writhing tentacles, as if the joke has already been told once today.
A sound choice for adventurers who:
- Need a Warlock patron miniature with genuine presence and visual menace
- Are building a Feywild, Far Realm, or carnival-horror encounter
- Want an NPC or boss monster that will unsettle players before initiative is even rolled
- Collect dark fantasy miniatures for display alongside a painted showcase
Encounter Hook:
The party is hired to investigate a travelling carnival that has set up overnight outside a prosperous market town. Three performers have gone missing, the ringmaster is speaking in riddles he didn't use yesterday, and someone has hung comedy masks on every door in the village — facing inward. The Eldritch Jester is already aware the adventurers are coming. She finds this delightful.
