The Eldritch Blood Hag is one of those sculpts that stops adventurers mid-scroll. Tall, gaunt, and unsettlingly still, she drifts rather than walks — robes and hair trailing behind her in ribbons, arms hanging at her sides with fingers just a little too long. Where eyes should be, there is only shadow beneath a curtain of lank, flowing hair, and that fixed, stretched grin is the last thing many a village has ever seen. She evokes the most unsettling corner of hag lore: not the cackling swamp witch, but something older and quieter that has been waiting in the dark long before the village was built.
On the tabletop she works brilliantly as a blood hag, green hag variant, or a wholly original creature of your own devising — a cursed fey noble, a drained revenant, a creature that answers to nothing with a name. On a display shelf, that combination of emaciated elegance and predatory stillness makes for a genuinely haunting piece to paint and exhibit. The sculpt rewards careful layering — pale, translucent skin tones, dark-stained robes, and that unsettling fixed smile deserve a careful hand.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run horror-tinged D&D or TTRPG campaigns and need a creature that unsettles before combat even begins
- Want a memorable boss monster or recurring villain for a dark fey or cult-centred arc
- Are building a display collection of folk horror or eldritch fantasy miniatures
- Love the craft of painting eerie, pale, high-contrast miniatures
Encounter Hook:
The frontier hamlet of Duskhollow has not lost anyone — not exactly. The people are still there, still breathing, still smiling. But their eyes are glassy, their words repeat in loops, and every door in the village now faces inward. At the centre of the square, where the well used to be, something tall stands very still with its arms at its sides. It has been standing there for three days. No one in the village seems to have noticed.
