- ✔ All pieces supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Great value for building out encounter groups or display collections
The Elder Thing Attack is a large, imposing undead horror that fuses the silhouette of a robed wraith with a grotesque skeletal eruption. Tattered fabric billows and coils around a hunched, lurching torso, while exposed rib-like protrusions burst outward in every direction — part skeleton, part something far older and less classifiable. A broad decorative belt clasp sits incongruously at its waist, a grim reminder that this creature once wore a face and a name. One bony limb grips a broad, spine-studded greatsword, whilst a hooked, barnacle-encrusted tendril arcs menacingly overhead. Broken skulls and clutching hands litter the base beneath it.
This is a large-scale miniature on a 51mm base — it commands genuine table presence and reads clearly from across the board. Whether you're running it as a greater undead, a possessed archmage, a lich's herald, or something entirely your own homebrew invention, the sculpt carries a sense of wrongness that is hard to pin down — which is precisely what makes it so effective. As a display piece, the layered detail across robes, bone, and scenic base rewards careful painting with washes and glazes.
This bundle includes both supported and unsupported variants, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred approach when printing.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Need a large undead threat that reads as more than a simple skeleton or zombie
- Are building a graveyard, crypt, or Shadowfell encounter with genuine menace
- Want a centrepiece monster that doubles as a striking display piece on the shelf
- Enjoy painting layered robes, exposed bone, and intricate scenic bases
Encounter Hook: The party discovers that the order's high archivist never truly died — his research into forbidden necromantic texts transformed him into something the textbooks don't name. He rises from beneath the library floor mid-investigation, robes still bearing his institutional belt clasp, greatsword in hand, the shelves around him collapsing inward as his reaching tendril drags the ceiling down.
