Garrick the Unyielding is the kind of warrior that younger soldiers whisper about in barracks. His face carries the weathered authority of decades in the field — a close-cropped beard beneath a nasal helmet, shoulders broadened by years of bearing armour, and a posture that speaks of someone who has long since stopped being afraid. He wears layered plate over a quilted hauberk, with articulated pauldrons and riveted greaves that tell the story of practical, hard-won protection rather than ceremonial pomp.
This sculpt captures Garrick mid-stride, sword lowered and one fist clenched — a man who issues warnings exactly once. The reverse shows the full breadth of his quilted coat and the purposeful set of his shoulders. Whether you see him as a veteran city guard captain, a retired sellsword drawn back into service, or the stubborn old knight who refuses to let the party rush the front gate, Garrick brings authority to the table that younger heroes simply haven't earned yet. Equally at home on the battlefield mat as on a display shelf, this is a miniature that rewards a careful paint job — every seam, buckle, and crease in that quilted armour is there to be picked out.
A fine choice for adventurers who:
- Need a commanding Fighter, Paladin, or Battlemaster NPC with genuine gravitas
- Are building a city guard, mercenary company, or knightly order for their campaign
- Want a player character miniature for a grizzled veteran human warrior
- Collect display pieces that reward detailed, layered painting
Encounter Hook:
The party reaches the city's inner gate only to find it barred by a single armoured figure who hasn't moved from that spot in three days. Garrick doesn't explain himself. He simply rests one gauntleted hand on his sword hilt and tells them, with the calm of a man who has ended arguments this way before, that nobody passes until the council votes. Whether the adventurers negotiate, deceive, or fight their way through is entirely up to them — but they'll remember the man who made them earn it.
