Edgar Cooper is the kind of man who holds a town together without ever getting a statue in the square. Barrel-chested, bald, and wearing the expression of someone who has buried far more secrets than bodies, Edgar stands with a gravedigger's spade resting at his side and a clenched fist that suggests he keeps his own counsel — and enforces it personally when required. His sturdy working clothes, thick belt, and worn boots mark him as a man of labour rather than leisure, but there's something in that heavy, flat stare that tells a more complicated story.
For a DM, Edgar is endlessly useful. He could be the graveyard keeper who knows exactly when the resurrections started. The blacksmith's enforcer who collects debts quietly. The loyal groundskeeper of a manor with a very suspicious family history. Or perhaps he's simply a retired soldier who digs graves now and wants nothing more to do with the world — until the party drags him back in. The sculpt captures a man of physical authority and guarded intent, equally at home as a reluctant ally or a slow-burning antagonist.
For adventurers who:
- Need a memorable, intimidating NPC that doesn't rely on magic or armour for presence
- Are running urban, rural, or gothic horror campaigns where working-class NPCs anchor the world
- Want a gravedigger, labourer, enforcer, or ex-soldier character with serious table presence
- Collect character minis for display as well as gameplay
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives in the village of Ashfen to investigate a string of disappearances. Every trail leads to the same name: Edgar Cooper. He's at the graveyard when they find him, turning soil in the dark with no lantern, and he doesn't stop digging when they approach. "Third one this week," he says, without looking up. "You lot planning to fix that, or just ask me questions?"
