Birna is a dwarf ratcatcher who has seen it all: plague-ridden undercrofts, merchant quarters thick with infestation, and the particular look on a guild-master's face when they realise she's the best there is at an unglamorous job. Stocky, self-assured, and dressed for work rather than ceremony, she stands on a rubble-strewn base littered with bones, a broken pipe, and a gnarled old stump — evidence of another job well done. Her expression is one of cheerful satisfaction, rat dangling from one raised fist, free hand resting on her hip. She is the kind of NPC your players will immediately trust, hire, or deeply underestimate.

The sculpt comes in three distinct poses — each capturing a different angle of the same grounded, vivid character. Whether you're running her as a recurring quest-giver in a city campaign, a Fighter or Rogue with an unconventional backstory, or simply a scene-stealing presence at the tavern, Birna has the detail and presence to earn her place on the table.

A good fit for adventurers who:

  • Want a character-rich dwarf NPC with real personality and narrative hooks
  • Are building city or urban encounters with working-class townsfolk
  • Need a memorable quest-giver, ally, or rival for a guild-based campaign
  • Play dwarf Fighters, Rogues, or Rangers with a practical, no-nonsense identity
  • Collect display miniatures with expressive sculpts and detailed scenic bases

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to investigate a series of disappearances in the warehouse district — bodies found drained, no signs of a struggle. Birna arrives at their lodgings before dawn, still smelling of the sewers, and drops a dead rat on the table. It has two sets of bite marks. One set is hers. The other is something much larger. She wants a cut of whatever the party finds down there, and she already knows a way in.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. The model and scenic base are supplied as separate pieces — a small amount of glue is all that's needed to attach them, and the base is sculpted to interact with the pose, so Birna is well worth displaying with it. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or striking straight from the box as a grey display piece. Three pose variants are available — please check our other listings to collect the full set.
