This stocky, barrel-chested dwarf chieftain is every inch the veteran warlord. He stands planted and immovable — one hand gripping a bearded axe that trails a braided rope, the other raising a battered drinking horn as though toasting the gods before battle. Every surface of the sculpt rewards the painter: plaited braids cascade from beneath a riveted winged helm, layered strips of armour protect his torso, and a voluminous cloak of overlapping feathers fans out behind him in extraordinary detail. A small bird perches on his shoulder — a nod to the ravens of Norse legend — completing an image that is as much chieftain-philosopher as battlefield commander.

The feathered cloak is the centrepiece of this sculpt. Viewed from behind, the layers of individually detailed feathers spread from collar to ankle, covering almost the entire miniature in a cascade of texture that will repay careful drybrushing and wash work.
