This dwarf commander cuts an imposing figure: broad-shouldered plate armour etched with Celtic knotwork covers his torso and pauldrons, while a quilted gambeson skirts his lower half. One gauntleted fist thrusts forward in a commanding gesture — pointing the next assault straight at whatever poor fortress wall stands in his way — while his other hand grips a long-hafted battle-axe, blade gleaming and spike-tipped at the crown. A full white beard flows over his chest, and a close-fitting nasal helmet crowns his head. Every surface rewards a painter: the interlocking knotwork on the shoulder rounds, the segmented vambraces, the layered belts and pouches at his waist.
