- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
Durth the Collector is a dwarf of consequence. His winged battle helmet speaks of ancient honours, its paired fins riveted and worn with campaign history. Beneath the visor, a broad nose and heavy brow frame the expression of a veteran who has outlasted every threat he has ever catalogued — patient, assured, and quietly formidable. The braided beard falls in thick, interlocking ropes across his chest, while layered pauldrons and fur-lined shoulders hint at both wealth and hard-won authority. This is a dwarf who has collected more than trinkets.
As a display bust, Durth is sculpted to reward painters who want to explore texture in depth — the layered fur, the riveted metalwork, the intricately carved knotwork on the plinth base all offer genuine technical challenge. The Norse-inflected aesthetic makes him equally at home as a clan patriarch, a fearsome NPC patron, or a guild leader whose favour is worth every gold piece spent earning it. Whether mounted on a shelf or placed at the centre of a table as a narrative prop, he commands attention without demanding it.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a substantial painting project that goes beyond the standard mini format
- Are building a display collection of characterful dwarven figures
- Need a memorable NPC — a lord, collector, or war-hardened elder — to anchor a campaign
- Appreciate finely sculpted facial hair and are not ashamed to admit it
Encounter Hook:
The party has been summoned to Durth's hall — not invited, summoned. He sits behind a long table crowded with artefacts, each one taken from someone who underestimated him. He slides a single object across the table toward the players: the last thing an adventuring party recovered before they disappeared. He'd like to know where they found it. He'd like to know very much.
Details
This is a display bust, not a standard 32mm combat miniature — its scale is suited to showcase painting, shelf display, and narrative prop use. It comes with the sculpted knotwork plinth base as shown. Supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks may occasionally remain and are straightforward to clean up.
