This dryad sculpt from Epic Miniatures captures the uncanny grace of a forest spirit mid-ritual — one heel raised from the ground as though the earth itself is lifting her, her body partially entwined with bark-like growth that merges seamlessly into flowing, root-laced tendrils at her feet. Layered leaf-work wraps her waist and hips, and her extraordinarily long hair cascades down her back in thick, sinuous waves that carry the texture of wood grain and living vine. In one hand, a small flame flickers; the other is open and beckoning, equal parts invitation and warning.

The sculpt rewards patient painters. The contrast between organic bark textures and the smooth planes of her figure gives plenty of opportunities for layered naturalistic colour — think autumn ochres and deep forest greens for the foliage, cool ash-grey bark tones for the lower limbs, with a warm amber or ember-orange glow building up from the flame.
