The party pushes through the treeline and stops dead — ahead, a tangle of great antlers rises from the earth, roped and bound, candles guttering in the still air, and a skull-carved stone slab at its heart that no one wants to look at too closely.

This druid altar is a centrepiece of ancient, unsettling ritual. Massive antlers — lashed together with thick rope — rise from a rough-hewn table covered in scattered offerings: bones, candles, ceramic vessels, a carved stone tablet and what appear to be offerings best left unnamed. Standing stones flank the structure on either side, wound with more rope, their surfaces worn smooth by years of use. Below the slab, half-hidden by rubble, the shadows suggest something sheltered — or waiting. Every surface is packed with detail that rewards a close look and gives a DM something to describe.
Whether it marks the grove of a circle of druids, the forbidden shrine of a Green Hag, a ritual site tied to a nature deity, or the working altar of a Archdruid boss encounter, this piece grounds a scene immediately. It works equally well as a focal point for an outdoor encounter or a sinister discovery in a dungeon's deepest chamber.
