The drider is one of the most iconic and unsettling creatures of the Underdark — a drow warrior transformed by divine punishment into something neither fully humanoid nor fully spider, but wholly lethal. This sculpt by Epic Miniatures captures that ferocity in a dynamic, forward-lunging pose: the humanoid upper body twists hard as the rider heaves a heavy axe overhead, robes and cloth billowing with the force of the swing. The eight-legged spider body beneath carries elaborate chitinous armour, spiked limbs splayed wide and low to the ground in a predatory crouch.
The sculpt rewards careful painting — the spider carapace offers crisp panel lines and layered spines that take washes and drybrushing beautifully, while the humanoid torso has flowing fabric and defined musculature that suit a blended highlight approach.
