This is variation 03 of the Dragon Eggs scatter terrain series from Novaminis — a pair of scale-covered dragon eggs, one intact and upright, one cracked open with its top blown apart and its hollow interior exposed. The sculptural detail on the overlapping scales is crisp and well-defined, running in neat rows across the curved surface of each egg. The broken shell has a jagged, torn lip that reads immediately as something that forced its way out rather than something that was opened. Whatever was inside is already gone.
As scatter terrain, these eggs do a great deal of narrative work without taking up much table space. Place them at the centre of a dragon lair encounter to signal that the players have stumbled into something territorial — or use the cracked shell to mark the beginning of a hatching event mid-session. Painted in copper, rust, and iridescent blues or greens, these would sit beautifully alongside any dragon miniature. As display pieces, they make for an evocative diorama element, hinting at a story without spelling it out.

Encounter Hook: The party follows a trail of enormous claw marks deep into the cavern. At the centre of a nest of scorched bones and looted armour, they find three dragon eggs — two whole, one freshly cracked open, the shell still warm to the touch. The hatchling is not in the nest. The sounds from deeper in the cave have just changed.
