The Draco Lich Gargantuan is a centrepiece encounter waiting to happen. This sculpt captures a skeletal dragon in an aggressive, low-stalking posture — ribs exposed, jaw stretched wide, and broad membranous wings flung outward in a threat display that fills the table. The wings are riddled with decay, the bone structure fully exposed through torn membrane, and the long clawed tail trails behind a body knotted with the grotesque growths of undeath. This is not merely a dragon's skeleton — it is a dragon that chose to become something worse.
The level of anatomical detail on this sculpt rewards careful painting. Each rib and vertebra is individually defined, the hollow eye sockets carry real menace, and the wing membranes show visible wear and ruin without losing structural clarity. Whether you're painting it in bleached bone with necrotic purple washes, or leaning into a more dramatic lich-fire glow effect, there is plenty of surface texture to work with across every surface of the model.
As a gargantuan creature, the Draco Lich commands serious physical table presence — it will dominate an encounter map and immediately signal to your players that something has gone very, very wrong with this dungeon. It is equally compelling as a display piece, serving as a flagship model for a dragon collection or an undead diorama.
Adventurers who will love this miniature:
- Dungeon Masters running a dracolich encounter as a campaign climax
- Display painters looking for a large-scale undead dragon challenge piece
- Collectors building out an undead or dragon miniature collection
- Players who want a truly imposing BBEG to anchor a long campaign arc
Encounter Hook: The party descends into the Catacombs of Vel'Sharath seeking a phylactery — only to find the vault door already open, and a gargantuan skeletal dragon coiled around the chamber's central dais, its hollow eye sockets burning with cold violet fire. It speaks first. It remembers all of them.
