The doppelganger is one of the most unsettling creatures in the Monster Manual, and this sculpt captures exactly why. Rendered as a lean, featureless humanoid — smooth-skinned, blank-faced, with hollow pale eyes and clawed hands held loose at its sides — this miniature radiates the quiet menace of a creature that doesn't need armour or weapons to be terrifying. It simply watches. It waits. And then it becomes you.
This is pose 2 of our Doppelganger range from MZ4250. Where some doppelganger sculpts lean into action, this one stands in that uncanny, unhurried stillness — the posture of something utterly confident it doesn't need to rush. Whether you're running a paranoid urban mystery or dropping an infiltrator into the middle of a trusted NPC roster, this miniature delivers that creeping wrongness straight onto the battlemat. Equally at home on a display shelf as part of a humanoid shapeshifter collection.
A good fit for adventurers who:
- Run intrigue-heavy campaigns where trust is the first casualty
- Need a physically imposing but visually unsettling humanoid antagonist
- Are building a shapeshifter or aberration encounter for 5e
- Collect display miniatures with strong character and presence
- Want a mini that will genuinely unsettle their players before a single die is rolled
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to escort a minor noble to a summit — but three nights into the journey, the noble's manservant begins finishing the noble's sentences. Slightly too accurately. Slightly too fast. When the party questions him, he smiles and says nothing is wrong. The noble agrees. Word for word.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale and supplied as a single piece attached to a round base. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all high-detail resin work, minor surface marks may occasionally occur and can be tidied up easily before priming. Arrives ready to paint or use straight from the box.
