Donkey w/ Plough by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
Even the humblest farmstead has its own story — and behind every field turned by hoof and harness, there's a world your players haven't thought to question yet.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This characterful piece depicts a stocky donkey straining forward in full working harness, hitched to a sturdy wooden plough that bites into the earth behind it. The sculpt captures the animal mid-effort — muscles pulling, rope and leather collar taut, hooves planted in churned soil. The detail on the harness is particularly well realised, with decorative roundels, rope bindings, and a shaped wooden yoke bar lending the piece an authentic rural weight. It's the kind of scatter piece that makes a village feel genuinely lived-in rather than merely placed on a mat.
Whether it's anchoring a farmland hex encounter, dressing the outskirts of a market town, or sitting at the heart of a diorama depicting rural fantasy life, this donkey brings immediate scene-setting credibility. Dungeon Masters know that the right detail in the right place can shift the whole texture of a session — and a working animal in a field does exactly that. This piece suits gaming sessions and display collecting equally well.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want to build convincing village, farmstead, or rural wilderness encounters
- Are creating a diorama or display scene depicting everyday fantasy life
- Need scatter terrain that adds atmosphere without dominating the table
- Enjoy painting detailed animal and equipment sculpts
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the Aldenmoor farmstead to find the donkey still harnessed to the plough, standing motionless at the far end of an unfinished furrow — but the farmer who was working it this morning is nowhere to be seen. The tracks leading away from the field are not human.
Details
Scaled to 32mm. The model is supplied attached to its scenic base as a single piece, ready for priming and painting straight away. As with all hand-finished resin pieces, minor surface marks are possible; these are easily tidied up with light sanding before painting. Fully cured on arrival.
