Description

In the flickering candlelight of an abandoned farmhouse, something small, bearded, and deeply unimpressed watches the party from the shadows — the Domovoy has decided whether you are welcome, and it has not yet told you which way that judgement fell.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Domovoy is a spirit drawn from Slavic folklore — a small, furry, sharp-eared household guardian who lives beneath the threshold and watches over the home with fierce, possessive loyalty. Cross him and the milk curdles, the fire goes cold, and the horses go lame. Respect him and he may just save your life.

This sculpt by MZ4250 captures that folk-horror energy beautifully. The Domovoy stands upright, compact and hunched, his body covered in shaggy fur. In one hand he holds a candle on a small dish-style holder, the wax dripping down in long trails — a domestic detail that makes him feel both mundane and deeply uncanny. His face is framed by a thick beard, his pointed ears flick outward, and his expression carries the wary, calculating look of a creature that has been observing humans for a very long time and has formed a complicated opinion.

This is a miniature that works equally well as a minor fey NPC, a household spirit the party must appease or outwit, or a curious encounter piece for campaigns drawing on Slavic or Eastern European folklore. Painted up with warm, earthy tones and a glowing candle flame, he would make a compelling centrepiece for any folklore-inspired scene.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Run folklore-heavy campaigns with fey spirits, household entities, or Slavic-inspired settings
  • Want a characterful small creature that isn't a goblin or kobold
  • Are looking for an unusual NPC with story potential built into every detail
  • Enjoy painting candlelight OSL effects and textured fur
  • Collect MZ4250's broad range of creatures drawn from world mythology

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to investigate a remote farmstead where the livestock keep dying and the family refuses to leave. The culprit isn't a predator — it's the Domovoy, furious that the new owners broke his three rules on the very first night. He won't stop until they make it right, and he holds the candle that proves what they did.
