Description

The smell of salt and old rope hangs in the air as the party rounds the corner of the dock — someone has been here recently, and the fish rack tells its own story.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This fish rack terrain piece from Ella's Arcanum is a beautifully detailed slice of waterfront life, sculpted with the kind of specificity that makes a battle map feel truly inhabited. The rack itself is built from rough-hewn timber planks seated on two chunky stone or log supports, with a knotted rope net stretched across a framework of sharpened wooden stakes — several fish hung in the netting, their scales and fins picked out with impressive clarity. Every plank shows grain and wear; every knot reads as rope rather than decoration. This is scatter terrain that does the hard work of world-building without saying a word.

Whether you're running a coastal fishing village, a riverside trading post, a harbourmaster's encounter, or a pirate cove ambush, this rack grounds the scene in an instant. It's equally at home on a Saltmarsh battle map, a low-fantasy market district, or as part of a painted diorama for display. Gaming and collecting in equal measure — this piece earns its place on the shelf as readily as it does on the table.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Are building coastal, harbour, or fishing village battle maps
  • Want scatter terrain that doubles as environmental cover and storytelling detail
  • Are running seafaring campaigns such as Ghosts of Saltmarsh or homebrew nautical settings
  • Collect and paint diorama-quality terrain pieces for display

Encounter Hook:
The dockworker who was supposed to be minding the catch hasn't been seen since dawn. The fish rack is undisturbed — but tucked behind one of the supports, wedged beneath the stone, is a folded note written in a cipher the party's rogue half-recognises from a smuggling ring they dismantled three towns ago.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale to sit naturally alongside standard miniatures. The piece is supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or equally characterful straight off the shelf. As with all our terrain, supports are removed as standard — minor marks from the printing process are possible and can be tidied with a craft knife or fine sandpaper.

Mitz & Simz — because someone has to bring these sculpts to life, and the cats volunteered us.
