The Displacer Beast is one of the most iconic horrors a Dungeon Master can throw at an unsuspecting party — a sleek, six-legged predator the size of a large panther, its body rippling with coiled muscle and its back bristling with two long, whip-like tentacles each lined with razor-edged barbs. This sculpt captures the creature mid-stalk: head low, shoulders bunched, weight shifted forward as though it's already committed to the pounce. The tentacles curl and rear above the body in a posture that reads as both threat display and readied weapon — every line of the pose speaks to something that kills for sport as much as hunger.
This is pose 02 of our Displacer Beast range from Yasashii Kyojin Studios, offering a slightly different angle of menace to complement the other variants. The musculature across the haunches and shoulders is beautifully sculpted, and the barbed tentacle tips carry enough fine detail to reward careful painting — whether you go for deep shadow-cat blacks, sickly magical greys, or something more unsettling entirely.

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to escort a merchant caravan through the Thornwood — three days of travel, decent pay, straightforward job. On the second night, a horse is found dead at the edge of camp: no blood trail, no prints, just two deep parallel lacerations across the flank and the faint impression of six paws in the mud. Something is pacing the treeline. The scout swears she saw it twice — in two different places, at the same time.
Scaled to 32mm and supplied unpainted, primed and ready for your brush. Available with or without a plain black base; the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. As with all hand-finished resin pieces, minor imperfections or residual support marks can occasionally occur — these are easily tidied up and are part of working with high-detail sculpts at this scale.
