This set brings three beautifully detailed stone fountains to your tabletop — and includes both intact and destroyed variants, giving your Dungeon Master toolkit genuine versatility. Whether you're staging a grand city plaza, a forgotten noble estate, or the smouldering aftermath of a street battle, these pieces add immediate environmental storytelling without a word of narration needed.
The centrepiece is a long rectangular basin fountain with an arched backboard decorated with flowing scrollwork and a carved lion's-head spout at its centre — floral relief panels line the front face. To one side sits a slender pedestal fountain topped with a flame-shaped finial, its column and base etched with sunflower and leaf motifs. Completing the trio is a compact wall-mounted lion-head fountain, the beast's face rendered in sharp detail above a small catch basin, designed to mount flush against a building or dungeon wall.
The second image shows the ruined state of the same pieces — cracked stone, fractured surfaces, and weathered edges that suggest age, neglect, or violence. Use the intact versions for a thriving city district and swap to the destroyed variants when the party returns to find the ward in ruins, or scatter both versions across the same board to show a district mid-conflict.
Sculpted with the fine surface detail that rewards careful drybrushing and washes — pick out the lion's mane in ochre, weather the basin edges with a grey drybrush, and let an ink wash settle into every carved groove for results that genuinely elevate the table.
Adventurers who'll love this set include:
- DMs building city encounter maps with meaningful, recognisable landmarks
- Narrative-focused tables where environmental details reinforce the story
- Painters wanting characterful scatter terrain with strong surface texture
- Anyone running before-and-after sequences — sieges, curses, or time skips
- Display diorama builders looking for atmospheric urban or courtyard pieces
Encounter Hook: The party has been tasked with retrieving a stolen signet ring last seen on a fence who operates out of the old Merchant Quarter. When they arrive, the once-grand plaza — centred around its famous lion-head fountain — has been ransacked. The fountain basin is cracked, the pedestal smashed, and someone has stuffed a coded message into the wall-mount's catch bowl. The ring is close. So is whoever left the note.
