Description

It does not sleep. It does not hunger. It merely endures — and it remembers every name of every soul foolish enough to disturb its rest.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

The Desiccated Tyrant is a mummy bust of considerable presence — this is not the stumbling, moaning undead of low-level encounter tables. The sculpt captures a once-powerful ruler now swathed in age-ravaged wrappings, head tilted forward in a posture of terrible, deliberate menace. The bandages are rendered with extraordinary texture: loose trailing ends, layered folds, and the suggestion of desiccated flesh pulling tight beneath them. The exposed lower face shows a grimacing rictus — jaw parted, teeth bared — while the eyes remain half-visible beneath the wrappings, giving the figure that distinctive mummy quality of something ancient watching you from behind ruin.

The torso continues the layered bandage work, with decayed fabric giving way to glimpses of withered form beneath. The bust sits on a detailed stone plinth with a carved, worn base — the kind of dais befitting a pharaoh-king who refuses to relinquish his throne even across centuries. The overall silhouette is powerful and commanding, built for a painter who wants to explore the rich contrast between dirty linen, desiccated skin tones, and the cold stone of an ancient tomb.

As a display bust, the Desiccated Tyrant offers significantly more surface area and sculptural depth than a standard miniature — every fold of bandaging is a painting opportunity, and the face alone rewards close attention with careful layering and glazing work.

This bust suits adventurers who:

  • Paint display pieces and want a technically rewarding, highly textured subject
  • Run Egyptian-flavoured campaigns, desert tomb adventures, or undead encounters
  • Collect display busts as shelf centrepieces or for painting competitions
  • Need a commanding visual representation of a mummy lord or ancient tyrant BBEG
  • Want a striking piece that works equally well as a gaming prop or a display trophy

Encounter Hook: The party has spent three days navigating the sun-scorched corridors of the Necropolis of Akhenseth when they find the inner sanctum — and he is already awake. The Desiccated Tyrant sits upon his crumbling throne, head tilted forward, jaw working in silence, eyes locked on the intruders who dared unseal his rest. He speaks in a language dead before their grandparents were born, and somehow every word is perfectly understood.
