Part holy warrior, part relic-keeper, Ilisyia is a desert elf priestess of the Elves of the Golden Sun — a sun-worshipping order whose reach extends across the bleached wastes and crumbling towers of a forgotten age. She carries two instruments of faith: a long-hafted mace crowned with an eight-pointed star sigil etched with sacred geometry, and a ritual blade she thrusts skyward in the moment of divine invocation. Her hooded desert robes are layered with intricately patterned fabric, knotted sashes, and engraved armour bracers — details that reward the painter willing to pick out every sun-worn groove. A flowing cape billows behind her, and she stands on a rubble-strewn desert base, mid-rite, utterly committed to whatever divine purpose drives her.
She works equally well as a player character Cleric — Light or Tempest domain both fit her energy — or as a powerful NPC priestess holding sway over a desert faction, a buried sun temple, or an elven holy war your players have inadvertently stepped into. She's equally at home on the gaming table and on a display shelf.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Play Clerics, Paladins, or sun-domain spellcasters with a desert or ancient-world aesthetic
- Need a compelling NPC faction leader, oracle, or divine quest-giver for a desert campaign arc
- Want a display piece with rich surface detail — the layered robes, star mace, and scrollwork reward detailed paintwork
- Are building an Elves of the Golden Sun warband or sun-cult encounter
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the ruins of the Tower Dunes to retrieve a stolen sun relic — only to find Ilisyia already there, mace raised, channelling a solar radiance that's turning the sand to glass. She demands to know who sent them. Her order doesn't share.
