Somewhere beneath the sunless streets of an Underdark city, a figure in a battered wide-brimmed hat leans casually against a crumbling pillar — watching, waiting, and already three steps ahead of anyone foolish enough to have followed him here.

This is Derro 04 from Yasashii Kyojin Studio, and he is one of the most characterful sculpts in the range. Hunched low in a wary, swaggering stance, he wears a long coat patched together with rough cross-stitching and belted loosely at the waist. His wide hat sits heavy over a face framed by straggly beard and wrappings, and his forearms are bound in thick bandaging — the hands of someone who fights dirty and often. One arm braces against a jagged rock formation, the other hangs loose and ready. The base itself is a natural rocky outcropping, giving the mini a grounded, atmospheric presence on the table.

Whether you paint him up as a grey-skinned Underdark rogue, a peculiar fence with dangerous connections, or a deranged mage who's long since traded his spellbook for a shiv, this sculpt does the heavy lifting. The detail in the coat seams, the layered bandaging, and the feathered adornment at the back of the hat all reward careful brushwork — and he holds his own just as well unpainted on a display shelf.

Encounter Hook:
The party is searching the lower warrens for a stolen artefact. When they find him, he's already waiting, one arm resting on the rock, that unsettling gaze fixed on them from beneath the brim. He knew they were coming. He's not surprised. He has a counter-offer.

Supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black display base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all hand-finished prints, minor marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up with light sanding.
