This is pose 02 of our Derro range, sculpted by Yasashii Kyojin Studio. Where the first pose carries a broad-bladed halberd, this variant levels a long hooked polearm with the grim focus of a creature that has been fighting in the dark for a very long time. The wild, spiky mane, scraggly beard, and feral expression are all there — feral and wiry, with that unsettling mix of cunning and barely-contained violence that makes Derro so memorable at the table. Spiked leather pauldrons, layered scale armour across the abdomen, bound forearms, and a rope belt complete the look of a warrior who has cobbled together everything they need from whatever the Underdark provided.
The sculpt holds up beautifully from every angle — the back view reveals the full texture of that remarkable feathered or quilled mane, the spike-studded cape, and the weapon's ringed butt-end, all rendered with the fine detail that makes this a rewarding piece to paint. Whether you place him across the table from your players as an Underdark ambusher or hand the mini to a player running a Derro fighter or barbarian, the character is immediately readable.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a distinctive Underdark enemy or encounter mini for D&D 5e or Pathfinder
- Are running a Derro warband, cult, or Underdark faction
- Want a characterful PC mini for a Derro fighter, barbarian, or ranger build
- Enjoy painting minis with strong surface texture and expressive detail
- Are building out a full Derro set alongside pose 01
Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the missing dwarven prospectors to a narrow tunnel junction, three levels below the last safe camp. As their torch light sweeps the passage, they catch the gleam of a ringed polearm and two sets of eyes — pale, wide, and completely unafraid. The Derro warrior does not move. He simply watches, and grins, and waits for them to take the first step.
